Sexton Law PLLC (the “Firm”)  is committed to maintaining the privacy and security of your/your organization’s (“you/yours”) confidential and/or personal information provided by you to the Firm. This policy describes what information we may collect and how we process personal information on the sextonartslaw.com website (the “Website”) and otherwise as we provide legal services to you as a current or potential client.

Collection and Use of Your Personal Information

Your personal information is that information that, alone or in combination with other information, can identify you, such as your name or contact information. 

There are several ways in which the Firm may obtain and use your personal information over the course of discussing your legal concerns. The primary way that we obtain your information is by you providing it to us directly through the Website, through emails, conversations, or through other correspondence. This may also take the form of your provision of documents or other materials in support of our work with you. 

We use your information in a variety of ways, but primarily to support the provision of legal services to you. This may include the initial assessment of our engagement with you prior to the start of providing services. Over the course of an engagement, we will continue to obtain information necessary to provide these services, to make notes and/or recordings of conversations (the latter solely with your knowledge and permission), to organize and store your information within the firm’s dedicated Google Workspace and secure hard copy files as necessary, and other digital or physical locations.

In certain situations, we may disclose your personal information with third parties where necessary, appropriate, and/or required by law. These situations may include:

  • Third party service providers providing services to the firm, such as our internet service providers and hosts, administrative vendors, and in some cases, providers which are specific to the services we are providing to you.  

  • Other law firms and/or lawyers with whom you request us to collaborate or whom we otherwise must collaborate with to provide our services. Any information which is provided pursuant to an attorney-client relationship will only be shared with necessary precautions to preserve the confidentiality and attorney-client privilege of such information. 

  • Governmental authorities as necessary to comply with laws, regulations, or other legal obligations.

  • As otherwise discussed with and consented to by you. 

Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Firm will never sell or otherwise provide any third party your information for marketing purposes.

Protection of Your Information

The Firm uses all reasonable measures to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information. Nevertheless, the Firm cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. Furthermore, we are not responsible for the security of networks that we do not control. 

The Firm will retain your information only for as long as - and to the extent - necessary to assess and provide services to you and in accordance with our retention policies and applicable laws.  

Third Party Service Providers

Please see below for more information about specific third party services that the Firm utilizes to manage the Website and to provide certain information technology and data processing services. Sexton Law PLLC is not responsible for the privacy policies and terms of use of these third party service providers or those that might be applicable to any third party links that you might access from the Website. The Firm does not control or endorse these third party policies. We encourage you to review the policies of all third party services.

Squarespace

The Website is hosted via Squarespace which also provides site analytics which may incorporate personal data, including:

  • Information about your browser, network, and device.

  • Web pages you visited prior to coming to this website.

  • Your IP address.

  • Details about your use of the Website, such as clicks, internal links, pages visited, and other details about how you interact with the Website.

This information is collected by Squarespace to learn about site traffic and activity. Squarespace also analyzes this data in a de-personalized form to protect and improve its platform.

Cookies

This website uses cookies and similar technologies, which are small files or pieces of text that download to a device when a visitor accesses a website or app. These cookies are managed by the Squarespace hosting platform and include certain cookies which are always used to securely serve the Website to you. Webforms

If you submit information to the Website via webform, we collect the data requested in the webform in order to track and respond to your submissions. We share this information with Squarespace, our online store hosting provider, so that they can provide website services to us. We also share this information with Google Workspace for storage and data porting.

Fonts

This website serves font files from and renders fonts using Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts. To properly display this site to you, these third parties may receive personal information about you, including Information about your browser, network, or device, information about this site and the page you’re viewing on it, and your IP address.
